It seems now that my TV guide is flooded with every kind of sport and industry’s “wives” as a show. Many of them I watch and get entertainment out of, but I have to wonder what it does to the reputations of mothers, wives, and girlfriends of successful men. In a positive aspect, I think it glamorizes the role of a homemaker. What went from a role not very much respected in today’s society, is now an envied position in the world of women. Everyone wants to be a “wife” now. Is this a bad thing? Continue reading

Ratchet Ass Ri Ri x Ms. Cleaver
My opinion on Rihanna is neither here nor there, especially since I don’t know her personally. But since I do have the mic on this lovely Thursday…I just wanted to voice my concern on the visions of strippers, weed, and bad weave that she’s posted for us within the last few months. I’m not judging her, to each his own. I mean…if you like a little puff-puff-pass amongst some white strippers’ ass, then by all means, cook on…but last time I checked, all of the things Rihanna has been promoting are activities that can be found in our local hoods and not our favorite R&B singers. Us vs. Ourselves x JusTeah
A 7-letter word that can mean the world to some, but be absolutely foreign to others…support.
Growing up, I always enjoyed receiving praise for the awesome things I did and for the accomplishments/goals I had achieved…especially when that praise came from the people that I held close to my heart. To me…there’s no greater feeling than hearing your parents, your partner, your child, etc. tell you how proud you have made them. I come from a very close-knit family where praise was prevalent and I always knew that no matter what my dream may be…I could ALWAYS count on my family to support me, and I now realize how important that support system is, when it comes to being successful.
Acknowledgment and support are things that actually drive us here at corriebradshaw.com. Continue reading

Imma Start A Riot x @MoeMoneyNoProbs
Justice. 1 word. 7 letters. A term referenced in almost every important document in American History, and yet, in the year 2012, we can’t seem to find it ANYWHERE.
It amazes me how we as a people, (African American, Black, dark-skinned, light-skinned, bronze-skinned however you refer to yourself) can endure so much, and still have the strength to abuse each other verbally, physically, emotionally, etc. Now, I’m no Saint by any stretch of the imagination, but I see it and I voice it, so let’s work on it…
Now onto the subject at hand….
